Capsicum plaster is only effective when used correctly. Avoid these common mistakes:
01. Applying to Broken Skin
Don't use on cuts, scrapes or rashes which can lead to unsafe pepper overabsorption.
02. Getting it Wet
Bathing or sweating excessively softens the adhesive and reduces absorption. Keep the area dry.
03. Using Too Frequently
Overusing can cause skin irritation and capsaicin tolerance. Limit to 8 hours of use per 24 hours.
04. Combining Heat
Heating pads or hot showers drive more capsaicin into the skin, increasing the risk of burns.
05. Ignoring Side Effects
Discontinue use if you experience significant redness, swelling, itching or blistering.
06. Applying Over Pain Relief Creams
Don't layer over other rubs or ointments which can dilute the plaster's effectiveness.
07. Wearing Too Long
Don't exceed the recommended continuous usage time. Remove after 8 hours max.
08. Not Checking Interactions
Capsaicin can interact with many medications. Talk to your doctor before using.
Avoid these mistakes, and capsicum plaster can provide targeted, natural pain relief safely and effectively when applied correctly.
